Remembering the Victims of Terrorism

Some silence. Send your love to those you knew and loved, those who will not see the turning of the leaves this year or the birth of their grandchild or the new school in the village. Send a prayer or a meditation or a wish into the pure air. Silence.

Then return to life and note that the real intended victims of terrorism are the living, the ones who didn't lose a loved one, the ones who are intended to be scared now, to be frightened now, to limit their lives now, to give up their liberties and freedoms and to close their mouths for good. But we, these intended victims, have a choice. We can refuse the fear and the worry and the cowardly lifestyle. We can go on.
